Building ABM’s recipe app required a systematic, step-by-step approach to ensure functionality and brand alignment. Like crafting a cocktail, each stage was precise and carefully executed.
Understanding the needs of the end users while defining the app’s core features, target platforms (iOS and Android), and user experience goals.
Simplicity and ease of use were vital, so we created an intuitive, visually appealing interface that guides users through recipes and prominently features ABM’s mixers.
Using Ionic with Angular.js and COrdov, ensured consistent performance on iOS and Android.
Integrate a web service for real-time recipe and product data in JSON format and use a CDN like Amazon CloudFront to manage and deliver image data.
Rigorously testing the app on multiple devices and operating systems to ensure a smooth user experience, identifying and fixing bugs before launch.
Releasing the app, gathering user feedback, and continuously updating the app with new recipes, features, and improvements based on user behavior and trends.
In 2015, the ABM Cocktail Pro app launched, featuring a sleek design highlighting products and recipes. The app and a mobile-friendly companion site provide an "evergreen" experience with regular updates for holidays and new product launches, reinforcing ABM’s brand and keeping bartenders inspired year-round.
