Kentucky National Guard

Opportunity

When the National Guard commands you to fall in and design them a website, you better believe we at
DBS came to attention. Wanting to better serve their many audiences, the National Guard Association of
Kentucky (NGAKY), in cooperation with the Enlisted Association National Guard of Kentucky (EANGKY),
contracted with DBS to develop a website that would allow their organizations to inform members of
important legislative issues that affect our Kentucky’s National Guard, manage conference registrations, collect information and dues
related to members, and attract additional corporate sponsors.

Solution

Built on the content management system, Drupal, the new website is built with scalability in mind,
allowing site administrators to create new pages and events with ease (or should I say “at ease”).

Taking the website one step further, DBS simplified NGAKY’s member management process by
integrating Drupal with the CiviCRM module.

Impact

Using this module, NGAKY was able to dispose of the inefficient and outdated legacy applications that
were previously being used to manage members.

All membership information is managed from the CiviCRM database, which now acts as NGAKY’s central
database. The added functionality and clean design of the website have already succeeded in acquiring
many new corporate sponsors for 2012.

In addition, the integration with CiviCRM has significantly reduced the time associated with managing their databases. The difficult task of managing conference registrations was greatly simplified with the new redesign, and the 2012 annual conference went off without a hitch. This has allowed NGAKY administrators to spend more of their time on activities that benefit members and add value to the association.
